Older Chichicastenango huipil consisting of 3 back-strap woven panels on black base cloth. Traditional sun's rays around the neck opening. It is said that a woman is becoming one with the universe when wearing her huipil. The small neck opening is round and measures 5″ in diameter with an additional 2" slit to aid in pulling over the head (note: this is a very snug fit over an average head) The sides have been stitched to create armholes.
Huipil is 34" across and 29" from shoulder to bottom of garment.
