Santa Catarina Palopo

Hand-woven huipil woven in 3 panels on a black base cloth from Santa Catarina Palopo.  Figures are traditional to huipiles from this region with different types of birds  Very charming piece.  32" across and 30" long on each side.  Side seams are sewn closed except for arm holes but may be opened if you prefer to wear poncho style.  Neck opening is generous.  Both sides of huipil are shown.
