Oaxacan hand-woven shawl #7

This handwoven lightweight shawl is woven in Xaaga in the Valley of Oaxaca. It is a mostly cotton plain weave ornamented with stripes across the fabric in leno weave. Patterns woven in a lighter color rayon reflect light and add an interesting dimension to the design. Varying colors in the warp and weft threads create a pretty color/texture in the fabric. Drapes nicely. 23 1/2” wide X 88” long plus a 5 1/2” fringe.
